Client Testimonials

“Thank you for an energizing team building event! Everyone had a blast and along the way we built some valuable connections within our team. The feed-back from our group was overwhelmingly positive and the laughs continue. You guys nailed it. The music and group songs were creative and fun; I truly have a great admiration for what you do. You make it seem so easy. It is in-teresting how speechwriting and song writing is very similar, making sure you have the right cadence, rhythm, refrain and harmony to make it rock. It was terrific working with you and I hope your team enjoyed the experience as well.”
— Gerard Fasano, President — Lockheed Martin IS&GS-Defense

“Paul and his team at Face The Music are fantastic! I brought them in to work with a very senior group of executives who were working through a complicated organizational transition. We needed them to break out of their typical way of thinking and see that we were not doing business as usual. The Face The Music event was the perfect solution – it challenged our execs to step out of their comfort zone, think creatively, and see each other in a different light. By tapping into their “blues persona” the partici-pants were able to bring out the issues that they were experiencing and we used the content of their “songs” as a starting point for very meaningful discussion throughout the offsite. This was one of the most fun and im-pactful experiences…and 4 months later the team is still talking about it!”
— Annette Pallinat — Director, Learning & Development at Northrop Grumman

“Incredible!! That is how I will summarize The Face The Music experi-ence in Miami. Honestly, initially there were questions if this approach would work with our executives. We now have our answer—a resounding “Yes.”
— VP, OD & Inclusion, global management consulting company

“The great thing about this was seeing everybody have such a great time, getting out of their comfort zones, singing and dancing like that–it was so cool. A great way for everybody to come together and share their experi-ences, share their stories, and come out of here of one mind and one voice to do some very important work tomorrow.”
— Howard Marcus, The McGraw-Hill Companies

What did you like about your FTM Experience: “Absolutely everything! The group was great, engaging, professional, fun and really got everyone into what they had to do.”
— Beverly Mate, The McGraw-Hill Companies

“The whole FTM gang was really wonderful! They were happy to work with each individual group, and some had to work with 2 groups, which I know wasn’t easy trying to split time. I also want to mention that the Andes group was behind schedule on both days, and FTM was gracious and patient while we finished up our general session. They even played and sang Happy Birthday to two of our participants, which was very sweet. We were so pleased with both days and the great outcomes! I really felt that the participants truly enjoyed themselves, especially when we broke into dance mode toward the end of the evening on Friday; mosh pit and conga line! SO FUN.”
— Jessica DeBlasi, Organization Development Assistant, Cytec Industries, Inc.

“It was a great energizer for the group and enormous catalyst to create the necessary strong bonds in the network of the trainees. People were a bit reluctant, at the start of the evening, for the assignment; however Paul and the band moderated/facilitated very professionally and created a very open and relaxed atmosphere. The Face The Music Experience will be certainly something I will recommend to peers & colleagues in and outside of Cytec. Music is a very powerful social behavior tool and FTM is great and reliable facilitator band to deliver on this.”
— Pieter De Maeght, Cytec Industries, Inc.

“Face The Music provides a unique and fresh approach to a group looking to build their culture and community. They are pros! What a blend of knowing how to work with organizations and their dynamics with the richness of music. What FTM does is memorable and “sticks” with people. We invited Face The Music twice to work with our business school faculty. This is the one activity that people remember year to year. People were engaged when working with FTM. They’re great! I’ve also seen Paul in other situations where his creativity and dedication to his craft are evident and he delivers just what is needed.”
— Anne Feyerherm, Chair, OD, Pepperdine University

“Our Face The Music program was a blast, totally spot on and meaningful.”

— Chris Keller, The McGraw-Hill Companies

“Working with Face The Music at our Innovation Conference was the best decision we could have made to achieve real success with our top managers across the City & Guilds Group.  Face the Music worked with us right from the beginning, helping us through the planning stages to create a fresh, creative experience which involved groups brainstorming and translating current business challenges and opportunities into blues song lyrics which they performed with the Face the Music live band.  Face the Music helped us to deliver a high risk strategy and achieve our outcomes for the day through their highly professional manner, and encouraging enthusiasm and participation from all attendees.”
— Claire Paul, City & Guilds

“FTM was an outstanding partner for this project. On the business front, they were professional, responsive and easy to work with. As for the music, they delivered beyond expectations. We employed FTM as a house band for a corporate meeting and these talented, hard-working musicians not only impressed me, they impressed my clients.”
— Thomas Nusbaum, Creative Director, BI Media & Events, May 2009

“I did not like this event, I loved it. It was truly a pleasure to work with the Face the Music team. It was wonderful to watch the teams collaborating and working together to create their songs. There was laughter and all participated. Thank you to Paul and the team, I am glad that they were able to spend the extra time during the week. It was nice having them at different spots in the agenda. The event was truly a success.”
— Kate Cingolani, Communications Specialist, EMD Serono, Inc., May 2009

“Thanks for helping to make our event such a great night. I’m still getting compliments and being told how much fun everyone had five weeks later.”
— Dennis Brown, Nestle Waters

“I liked everything about our Face The Music program. It was creative, well-organized, and well-executed. Paul was able to maintain the integrity of his creative endeavor while being flexible enough to work with a local band (myself included!). I appreciate all that he did to make our event a raging success. I will not hesitate to recommend this as one of the best experiential programs that I have ever been involved with.”
— Dr. Terri Egan, Professor of Applied Behavioral Science, Pepperdine Graziadio School of Business

“The music was uplifting and provided a forum to recognize both joint successes and common experiences. It was an energizing, fun, and highly experiential session that easily brought together people from many different backgrounds, cultures, and even languages.”
— Barbara Keen, Ph.D., Director, Organization Development, Bristol-Myers Squibb

“McNeil Consumer & Specialty Pharmaceuticals partnered with Face The Music to offer an evening activity during the delivery of their customized Transformational Leadership Series. The purpose of the evening was to create a team building activity that would allow participants to air real work issues in a fun, light-hearted way and to break down barriers cross-functionally and between organizational levels. We also wanted to have FUN! These leaders work hard and some evening levity was needed. This all was achieved and more. Participants raved about the activity and loved seeing each other as “human”. Any concerns I had about “would this work…and how people feel about having to write and perform a song” were completely gone after the first few minutes. It was a perfect complement to our program.”
— Valerie A. Corace, Director, Leadership Development, McNeil Consumer & Specialty Pharmaceuticals

“Glad to be a phone reference and identified as a VERY satisfied FTM client who initially reacted with ‘This is crazy… there’s no way we would be able to do this!!’ In the letter, I could include reference to the number of folks who told me the next day that they’d initially schemed on how to go hide in their hotel rooms…but after doing it said it was one of the most unusual and enjoyable team-building events they’d ever done.”
— David Owens, Director of Marketing, Washington Mutual

“I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun this teambuilding exercise project was for everyone. If not for FTM, our offsite would not have been a success.”
— Janine Iofrida, Pfizer

“What organizational development needs is innovation. And Face the Music is it!”
— Warner Burke, Ph. D. Professor of Psychology and Education, Teachers College, Columbia University

“FACE THE MUSIC was an extraordinary experience! During the course of our four-day National Sales and Marketing Conference, FTM was the catalyst that kept us out of the box, energized, entertained, and thinking deeply about many of our challenges going forward. In addition to the sheer fun of it all, we got many insights into the way we collaborate and communicate as an organization – as well as great ideas about what we can do to improve. Participants bonded, walls came down, creativity flourished and, collectively, we took the next step to go beyond our business blues. I was especially impressed by the skillful ways in which FTM facilitated the process of all 325 of us addressing some important “company culture” issues that emerged, real-time, at the conference. Well done!”
— Peter Jung, Senior Vice President, Moen

“The Face the Music event was the best day I’ve had at work in 15 years.”
— Jill Altana, VP Human Resources, ADP

“We have had rave reviews about ‘Face the Music’. FTM bonded our group early in the conference on a very emotional level. It brought down defenses and connected people who had never met before. The songs participants wrote enabled them to share their hopes and commitments, their anger and fears in a way that was both moving and funny. We think FTM is a brilliant idea and can accomplish in a few hours what days of an ordinary conference could never do.”
— Elizabeth Raisbeck, Watershed Program Manager, River Network

“This is such a great concept in energizing everyone. I came in sitting in the back of the room, but ended up right in front! Great for team spirit!
— Nancy Piechowiak, Sales Coordinator, Panasonic

“I didn’t think it could be done. You turned a room full of analytic executives into raving blues singer for a night. Finally, a conference activity that wasn’t the same old thing!”
— Ralf Christian, General Manager, GE Industrial Systems

“‘Face the Music’ was a huge hit. It accelerated the teaming of some very distinct personalities at our two week learning retreat. FTM provided an extraordinary opportunity for our group to bond, let down defenses, take some much needed risks and begin to deal with some tough issues. I loved the way FTM made it safe for people to step out of their comfort zones. The humor and energy of the evening was just what the doctor ordered. Well done!
— Lucille Calandra, Manager, Leadership Development, Con Edison

“Face the Music was a complete success. Our people had fun, took risks and understood how valuable the exercise was. We were especially impressed with the high quality of your musicians and your professionalism in managing a huge number of teams. During the morning after your session I overheard a prestigious member of our Board talking to his colleagues: “You know,” he said, “the blues exercise was not at all as trivial as I imagined it would be. I realize now that it was very meaningful.”
— Valerie Beroin, Sanofi-Aventis

“Your high energy ‘Face the Music’ provided an opportunity for teamwork, venting, and a lot of fun. During the course of our three day meeting we had some tough issues to tackle and I wanted to end our meeting with an activity that would bring people together in a positive way. Something that would be fun, yet of real substance and value. We got everything we wanted from FTM and more.”
— Thomas Hawley, Director, Human Resources, Givaudan
