Glass Ceiling Blues

I got a strange, strange feelin' that somethin' ain't right
That someone is concealing, that my future ain't so bright
I work all day, I work all night, I pay my corporate dues
No matter what I do I got the glass ceiling blues

My I.Q's 205, 'got a Ph.D. or two
But I just can't get ahead, no matter what I do
Oh, yeah, I went to college just like one of the guys
'Got a briefcase full of knowledge, much to my surprise
No equal pay for equal work; no chance to get ahead
My company's in the black, but me I'm seein' red

Lookin' at the org. chart I don't see my name up there
'Just lost my corner office to the new guy with no hair
The boys upstairs are dealin,' they're smokin' big cigars
I'm doin' overtime, keepin' pennies in a jar
I'm a woman, not a man, willing, ready, able
Those men don't understand I can bring it to the table

'Got a strange, strange feelin' that somethin' ain't right
That someone is concealing, that my future ain't so bright
I work all day, I work all night, I pay my corporate dues
No matter what I do I got the glass ceiling blues

No equal work for equal pay; no chance to get ahead
The company's in the black, but me I'm seein' red
That's it, I'm done, I'm goin' home, take the bathroom key
I'll make my decisions and I'm finally feelin' free
I'll get my DBA, then you call and pay my fee
That's it, I'm gone, I'm outta here, I'm in this one for me.
